A synthetic turf field well built and properly maintained will provide years of use, but to get the maximum benefit and the longest possible life from the surface, it is important that synthetic turf has the care and proper maintenance. This is contrary to what some people think regarding a synthetic field requires no care.

To optimize the life of the field, the owner shall implement a regular maintenance program. The objective of this program will be to ensure that a surface can always count on consistent and engaging game that promotes player safety while protecting the artificial turf system. The cost of bringing a program of preventive maintenance is always less than the cost of letting the field deteriorates to the extent of even require corrective maintenance work.

The maintenance program should include the following: cleaning, brushing (grooming), regular inspections, minor repairs, testing and replacement of fillings (top dressing).
